- Preheat the Oven:
- Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to preheat.
- Prepare and Bake the Fries:
- In a large bowl, toss the potato fries with vegetable oil and a generous pinch of salt until evenly coated.
- Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Caramelize the Onions:
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sprinkle with sugar.
- Cook the onions for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and caramelized.
- Stir in the balsamic vinegar and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Cook the Ribeye Steaks:
- Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time to your preferred doneness.
- Allow the steaks to rest for 5 minutes after cooking to retain their juices.
- Assemble and Serve:
- Plate the ribeye steaks and top them with the caramelized onions.
- Add the crispy French fries on the side.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a touch of color and flavor.
