- Gently wipe the mushrooms ๐ with a damp cloth to clean them. Remove the stems if you prefer.
- In a bowl, mix buttermilk ๐ฅ, garlic powder ๐ง, paprika ๐ถ๏ธ, salt, and pepper ๐ง. Whisk thoroughly.
- In another bowl, stir together all-purpose flour ๐พ and ranch seasoning mix ๐ฟ until well combined.
- Dip each mushroom ๐ into the buttermilk mixture ๐ฅ, letting the excess drip off, then coat it evenly in the flour mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil ๐ข๏ธ in a frying pan over medium-high heat. The oil should be about 1 inch deep.
- Test the oilโs readiness by dropping a small piece of batter into it. If it sizzles, itโs ready! Fry the coated mushrooms in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry for 3-4 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb extra oil.
