1๏ธโฃ Prepare the Chicken Cutlets ๐:
If making homemade, coat chicken in flour, egg wash, and breadcrumbs. Fry or bake until golden and cooked through.
If using store-bought, heat according to package instructions.
2๏ธโฃ Assemble the Sandwiches ๐ฅช:
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce ๐
over one side of each bread slice.
On two slices of bread, layer a piece of provolone ๐ง, a chicken cutlet ๐, more marinara ๐
, shredded mozzarella ๐ง, and a sprinkle of Parmesan ๐ง.
Top with the remaining slices of bread, marinara-side down.
3๏ธโฃ Butter the Bread ๐ง:
Mix softened butter ๐ง with garlic powder ๐ง (if using) and spread evenly over the outside of each sandwich.
4๏ธโฃ Grill the Sandwiches ๐:
Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Place the sandwiches butter-side down in the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden and crispy.
Flip and cook the other side until golden and the cheese ๐ง is melted (another 3-4 minutes).

Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for 1-2 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil ๐ฟ if desired.
