Add the Egg Yolks
- Gradually whisk in the beaten egg yolks.
- Continue cooking and stirring until the mixture reaches a smooth, custard-like consistency.
Preheat the Oven
- While the filling cooks, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Finish the Filling
- Remove the thickened mixture from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until fully blended.
Assemble and Bake
- Pour the prepared butterscotch filling into the pre-baked pie crust.
- Place the pie in the oven and bake for about 5 minutes, or until the top of the filling turns a light golden brown.
