- Gently wipe the mushrooms π with a damp cloth to clean them. Remove the stems if you prefer.
- In a bowl, mix buttermilk π₯, garlic powder π§, paprika πΆοΈ, salt, and pepper π§. Whisk thoroughly.
- In another bowl, stir together all-purpose flour πΎ and ranch seasoning mix πΏ until well combined.
- Dip each mushroom π into the buttermilk mixture π₯, letting the excess drip off, then coat it evenly in the flour mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil π’οΈ in a frying pan over medium-high heat. The oil should be about 1 inch deep.
- Test the oilβs readiness by dropping a small piece of batter into it. If it sizzles, itβs ready! Fry the coated mushrooms in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry for 3-4 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb extra oil.
- To make the dip, mix any leftover buttermilk mixture π₯ with additional ranch seasoning πΏ in a small bowl.
- Serve the fried mushrooms π hot with the ranch dip π₯£ for the perfect snack or appetizer.
