Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt together.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this will keep the cookies soft and tender.
If desired, fold in the chocolate chips for added fudginess.
Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing each cookie about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers remain slightly soft.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
