Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to preheat.
  2. Prepare and Bake the Fries:
    • In a large bowl, toss the potato fries with vegetable oil and a generous pinch of salt until evenly coated.
    • Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  3. Caramelize the Onions:
    • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sprinkle with sugar.
    • Cook the onions for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and caramelized.
    • Stir in the balsamic vinegar and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Cook the Ribeye Steaks:
    • Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper.
    • Heat a skillet or grill pan over high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time to your preferred doneness.
    • Allow the steaks to rest for 5 minutes after cooking to retain their juices.
  5. Assemble and Serve:
    • Plate the ribeye steaks and top them with the caramelized onions.
    • Add the crispy French fries on the side.
    • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a touch of color and flavor.
