Instructions
- Prepare the Beef Patties:
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce (if using).
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
- Cook the Mushrooms:
- Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 additional minute. Deglaze the pan with beef broth or white wine (optional) and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Patties:
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- In the final minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
- Assemble the Burgers:
- Toast the buns and spread your preferred condiments (mayonnaise, mustard, etc.) on each side.
- Layer the bottom bun with lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles (if using).
- Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top, then generously spoon the sautéed mushrooms over the patty.
- Add the top bun and serve immediately.
